Playing around with Watercolor. Tulips seem to be the easiest to draw. Of course, since this IS MY first attempt at watercolor and no formal training, my tulips will not look authentic. But, I do like how the painting looks after it dried completely.

I kinda like it.

Met ppl from Canada, Sweden, Australia, Lebanon, Scotland & "tried" answering ?s w/a grp from Holland that I had lunch with. Truly an International Event. A few sleepless nights;many lasting memories.

Where did all my creative energy go? I cannot believe I have not blogged in MONTHS. The energy is still here but was too far away from blogging. I have been taking workshops locally and online and learning all sorts of new creative techniques. My first love still seems to be in Fiber and Mixed Media.

This collage piece was done during a workshop I took with Carmen Torbus http://torbusco.ning.com/profile/Carmen Carmen teaches a great technique on collage with acrylics using your finger. Yepp... no paint brushes..... just your fingers. I love it. I think I still need help with color theory and composition. Looks like all I've mastered is choosing a great acrylic brand (Golden) and decided from here on forward...its gel medium all the way.

Participated in a very exciting Workshop last week; with Lesley Riley and some friends. LOVED IT!!

Here's one previous scrap (gold heart), the design on green fabric was my project from Lesley's workshop and the RED mod podge is the paper I used to cover my workspace. I just love the color combinations.

I love this song, when its sung at church. So, last week, after wrapping up a wall hanging, those words came out of nowhere. At that point, I decided to add these words to complete my piece.

Yep yep... its a box of cheerios that has been "repurposed" and handpainted with fun colors. Just couldnt decide which photo looked better. The flower on front is made out of card stock, handpainted and embellished with two buttons layered on top of one another.

Looks pretty good if I should say so myself. :-) He did all of the work freehand.

"Labor" of Love ??

It's Labor Day, 2008.

Nothing creative this past weekend due to a tragic accident close to my heart.

However, I just noticed that I had not updated my blog with my latest and greatest sewing experience. This past several weeks, I've been devoted to mastering a new technique which involved the creation of a small version of a messenger bag. It was quick easy and lots of fun using fun fabrics. This bag has a magnetic strap and long shoulder strap. One day, that will be adjustable. Just gotta figure out the tools required.

From my fall collection, I have animal prints !!!

Couldnt wait to post this "fun" looking bag. The colors are bright and the embellishments add excitement to it, to me at least.

I've never added this type of embellishment to one, so it was pretty interesting.

Wonderful Batik finish

Well... you gotta love batik. My latest tote is done in batik fabric. Beautiful shades of purple, lavender, green and light blues. Too hard to describe this as it looks so much prettier in person.

This tote bag is fully lined and has a flap over with a magnetic snaps.
